Callie's first week of First Grade!

Callie had her first week of First Grade!!
School started August 17 and its gone pretty good so far.
The county fair also started August 16 and lasted all week, so we got to hit that up as well.
It was a great week for our little girl.
Here is the week in pictures:

 First day of school!
              Showing off her Avengers Book-bag
(she is in love with the Avengers!)

She had to have pretty nails for first grade!   Zebra & Scribble Hearts, Jamberry Juniors ( http://bit.ly/1Jg7bZ3)
Stylin' in her Minnie Mouse outfit, 2nd day

 Rockin the London shirt

Thursday, we didn't get a picture of her outfit.  Just the big flower in her hair.

Friday, wow what a day!!!!  She lost a tooth at school.  Then off to the fair!

She is now to big to ride the "baby" rides.  Her first "big kid" ride was the swings.  Oh she was so happy, but daddy was sad.

then a quick ride on the little roller coaster before going through the funhouse.

She got to ride with some older girls on a really big kid ride, this really scared her daddy but she was in love

and lets not forget the carousel before we leave.  and finally.... our little princess.

Crown is a prize from the ducky game, flag  and book-bag are swag items we picked up while walking around.  That bag has pencils and other stuff she gathered as we walked around.

Whew, what a week.  Our baby is now a first grader, and growing up.  Thanks for joining us on our look back at the week!

Carlisle All-Truck Nationals 2015

Truck Nationals at Carlisle is a weekend event August 7-9, we only visited on Saturday.
The weekend is a must-attend event and has been the epicenter for all things truck since 1991. Come to Carlisle for a great array of lowered mini trucks, lifted 4x4s, chromed out big rigs, SUV’s, custom vans and the perfectly restored classics. The weekend celebrates trucks of all kinds.
Find out about this and other events: http://www.carlisleevents.com

I got a new pair of sunglasses for only $10.  I love to stop at the Sunglass vendor each show.  I try to get a new pair each year.
Here's Mike standing next to the "Blackout Rig"   We did not go visit the rest of the Rigs though.  This one happened to be up by the Grandstands.

You can ride in the back of a Monster Truck around the arena., for the "low" cost of $8

During Truck Nationals, they have a great area set up for kids.  Several different things they can do- after purchasing tickets.  They have the bounce house, slide, Stunt Jump, rock wall and a few other things.

Pretty Pink Low rider.

I liked the shifter in this Low Rider, its a skull.
Here are some other Low Riders:

They also have a Ladies tent, at every event.  Here you can visit Ladies' vendors such as Scenty and other home party consultants.  I did not stop in.

Check out this exotic tailgate.  Someone did do a nice airbrush job though.

Our yummy lunch.  Pulled-Pork sandwich.  Now there are several food vendors set up, some selling the same things.  But we only eat at one,  and its on the other side of the fairgrounds.  $7 for this big sandwich & and tiny container of cole slaw.
However, I had to grab a bottle of water later in the day- $3 for a bottle of water!!! Ah hell no.  But what are you gonna do, you need to drink something.  Although, I should have wandered around a bit more and found my lemonaide stand.  Where you get a Gaint cup for $5.

I was sent to gather stickers and goodies from vendors.  I did manage to get a PILE of stickers, but only got 3 ink pens and this one tote.  I usually fair better than this, but then again we didn't go by all the main vendors.  We hit up a good portion of the "Swap Meet" area.  Mike was on a mission for parts!

Over all, we had a good day.  It was hotter than we expected, but hot is better than RAIN! Mike was happy, he got some of the parts he wanted for his truck (pictured) and his work van.  Plus,we still came home with money- so it all worked out.  We look forward to this and other Carlisle events next year.

Working Out with Alisa

I am going to start off saying that I am not a fitness buff, nor do I know everything.  I don't eat right or any of that.  But Mike and I do go to the gym practically every day, and we try to stay in shape without going all overboard.
With that said, I would like to share with you a little bit of my workout stuff.  I am including my playlist, some different workouts I have found (mostly from Pinterest or Fitness magazine).

Also, I have always gotten migraines and then be so sick I can't move.  Well, this year that is changing.  Mike has alsways been on my case that I need to get up and move.  Guess what? He was right, but please god don't tell him that! haha.  But seriously, I get up, I get a lot of caffine and then we go to the gym and I work my tail off.  By the time we get home and then eat, I am like "what headache?"
I go even when I don't feel like it, but only cause I know that there are days I can't go to the gym, days we have plans to do stuff as a family.
So here are some things I want to share with you.
I made myself a small workout notebook with things I found on Pinterest and in fitness magazines,  things I knew I would be able to do.

I even put little tabs for different sections.

You can check out my Pinterest page for Fitness here -->  http://bit.ly/1Pbpnr1

Here is my usual rountine at the gym:
Mike and I spend roughly 10 mins on the treadmill,  me usually at an incline of 7-8 and speed around 3
then if the Women's Workout room is empty I will do some weights, sit-ups and donkey kicks in there.
if not empty I will go straight to the Crossfit Eplitcal and spend about 30 mins there.
I am always on the eplitical machine- I love the Crossfit one, not much of a fan of the others. ( will try to remember to get a picture and update that for you.)
And of course, I try to workout with Mike doing weights.  Bicep curls, squats and such.
Some days when I "can't" go to the gym, I try to workout at home with dvds or I use our Comcast On Demand feature and select a workout from there.  There used to be one I loved but its no longer available and I honestly haven't found one I truely enjoy but I do them anyway.
Here I am in February
I found the perfect song for squating.  lol  How Low by Ludacris!  Love that song.
And of course, my own personal trainer, Mike.  Working on his back muscles. (yeah he's hot)

Okay, here is my playlist.  I would love to know what is on your playlist for working out, comment below!
Furiously Dangerous from the Fast Five soundtrack

Here is a picture of one of my Favorite shirts Mike bought me.

I also have one similar to this one:

Happy Workouts!

Cleaning tips

I am just sharing with you some different cleaning tips that I have found.  I would love to "hear" your thoughts as well.  This post is very random, and not in any order-just as I have found things.

Personally for me, I rather clean one room a day (besides the regular dishes, laundry and wiping down of things).  That is what works for me & my household.  I go through one room ( or all 3 bedrooms) and pick up, wipe down and vacuum/sweep.
However, there is of course another system.  (I checked it out & did it for a short time)  Its called the FlyLady way.  http://www.flylady.net/      She has a schedule all set up for you, one room or 2 rooms adjoined each week.   Its a great system, if it works for you.  She has tools and items for sale on her site.  She has lots of great tips, and a new habit of the month each month.  They also send out weekly/daily newsletters.  She evens has ways to get your kids to join in!

Now here are Tips, Tricks & Hacks:

Clean your clean machine: the washer.

This page gives you a step-by-step way to get the grime off the nooks and crannies of your washing machine.

Snip off a slice of a Magic Eraser and drop it in the toilet.
Let it float overnight and it’ll remove any toilet ring. No scrubbing! No one wants to be touching toilet germs, not even with gloves on

Pour a packet of lemonade Kool-Aid into the detergent cup of your dishwasher.
Pour a packet of lemonade Kool-Aid into the detergent cup of your dishwasher.
It’ll remove lime deposits and iron stains.

Today I saw this on Pinterest:
How & Why to Clean Bath Toys! from We love being moms (blog)
Had some very interesting comments and tips, especially if like here at our house you have LOTS of bath toys.  Time for me to break out the hot glue gun!

Ladies and Gentlemen, that is all I have for now.
But there are a bazillion tips, tricks and hacks on Pinterest!
Please feel free to comment below with a tip, trick or hack of your own.  We love to hear form our readers.
