Vacation Bible School

Our youngest is attending her first Vacation Bible School this week at her Nana's church.  Unfortunately our church is not doing it this year.  We are getting ready to head out for Day 3, but I wanted to share with you a bit from Day 1 & 2
Each day at the beginning and end of the night, there is lots of singing and dancing.  Which my (not so) little one loves.  The kids are separated into groups by school grades.  Pre-K and K are together, so of their activities are a little different than the big kids.  1st and 2nd grade together and so on.  I was very surprised with the amount of teens involved, honestly.  Its a pretty good size group, and their activities are a bit different as well to the lower grades.

Day 1
We learned that  "God Made You"
God made us each different & Complex (Psalm 139:14)
God made us in His image (Genesis 1:2)

They talked about how each person is different, how God has a plan for each of us.
In Bible Study, the kids made a "person" as a team.  To show how each person is different!

Then they moved over to Team Building!
This is lots of fun.

Since this is all about Maker Fun Factory, we did activities involving making things.  The kids made picture frames using items that you can "build" with.

Day 2
God is For You!!!
If God is for us, who can ever be against us? (Romans 8:31)

Bible story:
Rahab left a red rope hanging from her window. That way the army would know to keep her safe.  Rahab knew that God was for the Israelites.

God is on your side, no matter what hard thing you face.  God helps you to be strong, and he builds you up!

Team building:
The kids were lined up, then crete paper was tied around each of their ankles.  Then they had to walk together to the goal without ripping the paper.  A great excerise!!!!

Here is Callie with the Children's Ministry Leader

This is what the kids made on Day 2!

Now we are off to Day 3!!!  Callie is super excited!
Oh, and each night dinner is served!  woohoo!  Camp is from 5:30-8:30pm  all week.  Everyone is wore out when they get home.  But its so worth it.  And I am sure we will join them again next year for VBS!  We do visit this church for Easter celebrations and any kid focused events such as this.
